Flowers decorating our church
St. Peter's Church
The 'Sunshine and Splendour' flower festival in 2010 saw our church adorned with beautiful displays inside and out, celebrating St. Peter's 125th year of sharing God's love in Anlaby.
St Peter’s holds a number of events each year focusing on key Christian festivals such as Christmas and Easter, annual fund-raising events like the Gift Day and Summer Fayre, other special initiatives like ‘Back to Church Sunday’ held in the autumn, and a range of concerts and social events for all ages.
Passion Play
St. Peter's Church
Our Easter Passion Play re-enacts the events leading to Jesus' death on the cross, his ultimate sacrifice made out of his love for us.
Our Christmas and Easter celebrations include activities that bring the story and message of Jesus right into the heart of the community. Our Christmas Live Nativity and Easter Passion Play held outside the Village Hall (weather permitting!) have become regular features and always attract a good crowd.
2010 year was a very special year for St Peter’s as we celebrated our 125th birthday! The main celebrations were held in June with our ‘Sunshine & Splendour’ flower festival in association with the East Riding Flower Club, special services and a concert by the East Riding of Yorkshire Band. These were enjoyed by members of St Peter’s, our local community and visitors from far and wide.
Live Nativity
St. Peter's Church
Our Live Nativity depicts the events surrounding the birth of Jesus, the special child born to humble people, but who was destined to change the world. This annual event helps put Christ into Christmas in Anlaby.
